When to Book a Wedding Videographer in Colorado: Lock a June to October Date 12 to 18 Months Out

If you are getting married in Colorado between June and October, book your wedding videographer 12 to 18 months before the date. Those months are peak season, and good dates tend to fill that far out. Outside those months there is usually more room, but the earlier you ask, the more choice you have.

I'm Andrew with Peak Wedding Films in Colorado Springs. I take one wedding per day, so timing is the difference between your date being open and your date belonging to someone else.

Why Colorado Summer and Fall Dates Go So Early

June through October is when Colorado weddings cluster. Mountain roads are open, the evenings are long and the aspens turn in the fall.

That puts a lot of couples chasing the same Saturdays. Venues book first, and then every vendor who takes one event a day starts filling in behind them.

Videographers who film one wedding per day feel this most. There is no second crew to send. When a date is taken, it is taken.

The Order That Makes Booking Easier

You cannot check a videographer's calendar until you have a date, and you usually cannot pick a date until your venue confirms it.

A simple order that works:

  • Settle a short list of dates and a rough guest count.
  • Confirm the venue and the date together.
  • Book the vendors who take one wedding a day soon after, while your date is still open on their calendars.
  • Fill in the rest of the details once the date-dependent pieces are locked.

If you are eloping, the order is lighter. Pick the spot and the date, then check availability before you plan anything else.

What Actually Holds Your Date

This part surprises people. An inquiry does not hold a date. Neither does a great phone call.

With Peak Wedding Films, a signed contract and a retainer are what lock your date in. Until then, the calendar stays open, because it only holds one wedding per day and the first couple to sign gets it.

If you have found the right fit, it is worth moving from the call to the contract while the date is still free.

What If Your Wedding Is Sooner Than That?

Reach out anyway. Twelve to eighteen months is when peak season dates tend to fill, not a rule that closes the door on anything closer.

A shorter runway just means asking sooner. Tell me the date first, because that is the first thing I check.

What to Have Ready When You Reach Out

You do not need a finished plan. You need three things:

  • Your wedding date, or a short list of dates.
  • Your venue, or the city or area you are marrying in.
  • A sense of what matters most to you about the day.

I read every inquiry personally. If the date is open, the next step is a short call about your venue, your timeline and what you want the film to feel like. It is a conversation, not a sales script, and it does not commit you to anything.

What Booking Early Gets You

Booking early is not just about the date. It also gives you time to plan the day around the film.

Every booking includes a pre-wedding call, so I understand your day completely before it arrives. With more lead time, we can shape the timeline around the light, plan where a drone can fly and talk through travel. Travel is priced before you book: anywhere within about 90 minutes of Colorado Springs, Denver included, has no travel fee, and farther venues carry one flat fee set before you sign.

You can look over what each package includes, from hours to travel, before we ever talk.

What If Your Date Changes After You Book?

Plans move, and booking early should not feel like a trap.

Your retainer transfers to a new date if I am available. If the new date is already taken, I will connect you with a trusted colleague whose work I stand behind. The rescheduling terms are in your contract from the very beginning.

Quick Answers

Is a winter wedding easier to book? June through October is peak season, so dates outside those months tend to have more room. Ask either way.

Do elopements need the same lead time? An elopement takes the whole day on my calendar, the same as a full wedding, so the same date rules apply.

Can I check more than one date? Yes. Send a short list and I will tell you which are open.

Peak dates go first. Send me yours and I will check it myself.
