Wedding Videographer in Castle Rock, CO: Plan a Day That Films Well Between the Springs and Denver

If you are looking for a wedding videographer in Castle Rock, CO, the short answer is that Castle Rock sits inside the closest travel band from Colorado Springs, so there is no travel fee and the full day goes to your film. I'm Andrew with Peak Wedding Films, based in Colorado Springs. Castle Rock is an easy drive up the road for me, and this is how I plan a Castle Rock wedding so it looks and sounds like your day.

Why Castle Rock is home turf

Castle Rock is one of the towns listed in the no-travel-fee band, along with Colorado Springs, Monument, Parker, Littleton and Denver. That means a Castle Rock date is planned the same way as a wedding in my own town.

I film one wedding per day. Nobody is racing in from a morning ceremony somewhere else, and nothing is queued behind a second wedding that same weekend. If your date is open, the whole day is yours.

Big sky, open views and fast-moving weather

Castle Rock sits between Colorado Springs and Denver, with open sky and Front Range views in many settings around town. That openness is beautiful on film, and it also means you can watch weather roll in from a long way off.

Summer afternoons along the Front Range often bring storms. A few things keep the day calm:

  • Agree on a backup spot or a backup hour on the pre-wedding call.
  • Keep the ceremony time realistic, so a short delay does not squeeze portraits.
  • Remember that dramatic skies can make the best footage of the day.

My gear is weather sealed, and if the timeline needs to shift, we shift with it and keep rolling.

Light: plan portraits around the mountains

The mountains sit to the west, so the sun slips behind them before the official sunset time. In fall, the low, warm light arrives earlier in the evening than it does in summer.

Courtney and Mark married just up the road in Highlands Ranch in late October 2024, with golden-hour light and a room full of people who had been waiting a long time to celebrate them. A late-season Castle Rock date can carry that same light if the timeline makes room for it. Twenty minutes in the right light is worth more than an hour in the wrong light.

Sound: the part a photo cannot keep

A film holds your vows in your own voices, the toast that made the room laugh, and the music. Open-air ceremonies can be breezy, and wind carries voices away.

  • Keep the officiant and the two of you close together for the vows.
  • Seat toasts where the speaker faces the room.
  • Tell me early who is speaking, so I know whose reactions to watch for.

Every package includes drone coverage and a full documentary cut.

The drone pull-out

Drone coverage is included in every package. One of my favorite shots is a pull-out that starts tight on the two of you and slowly opens to reveal everyone who came, with the mountains behind them. Your venue decides where the drone can fly, so ask about its rules for aerial shots and tell me if that shot matters to you.

Fitting hours to a Castle Rock day

Packages run 8, 10 or 12 hours. Count from the first moment you want filmed, usually getting ready, to the last one, often the exit. If the getting-ready location, ceremony and reception are all in or near Castle Rock, less of the day goes to driving and more of it goes on camera. You can compare what each package includes, from hours of coverage to film length and crew.

How your film arrives

Your film comes through a private, password-protected link you can stream, share and download in full resolution, on a phone, a laptop or a TV. Everything is backed up for at least two years after delivery.

FAQ

Is there a travel fee for a Castle Rock wedding?

No. Castle Rock is inside the band within about 90 minutes of Colorado Springs, which carries no travel fee.

Can you film a Castle Rock ceremony and a Denver reception on the same day?

That comes down to time. Your coverage hours need to include the drive between them, so bring both addresses to the pre-wedding call and we will work through the timing.

Do you also bring a photographer?

No. Peak Wedding Films is video only, so you hire your photographer separately and I film alongside them.

How far ahead should we book?

Peak season, June through October, tends to fill 12 to 18 months out. If your date is sooner, reach out anyway.

Is your Castle Rock date open?

Tell me your date and your venue, and I will check it.
