Colorado Springs Wedding Videographer: What Happens From Your First Message to Your Final Film

Working with a Colorado Springs wedding videographer comes down to five steps: check the date, have a short call, sign to hold the date, plan the day together, then receive your film on a private link. I'm Andrew with Peak Wedding Films. I grew up in Colorado Springs, I film weddings from here to Denver and out to the mountain towns, and this is exactly how the process runs from your first message to the day your film lands.

Step 1: Send your date and your venue

The first message only needs three things: your wedding date, your venue or the town you are marrying in, and a sense of what matters most to you about the day. Nothing else is required to start.

I read every inquiry, and the date is the first thing I look at. I film one wedding per day, so a date is either open or it already belongs to someone else. You hear that answer quickly, before anyone spends time on details.

Step 2: A short call, no pitch

If your date is open, the next step is a call of about thirty minutes. We talk through your venue, your timeline, and what you want the film to feel like when you watch it years from now.

It is a conversation, not a sales script, and having it does not commit you to anything. It is also a good time to ask to watch a full wedding film rather than only a highlight reel. A full film is what you are actually buying, so it is fair to see one.

Step 3: Pick a package and hold the date

There are three packages, with 8, 10 or 12 hours of coverage. Every one includes drone coverage and a full documentary cut, and travel within about 90 minutes of Colorado Springs, Denver included, carries no travel fee. You can read what each package includes before the call so you arrive with questions instead of guesses.

A signed contract and a retainer are what lock your date in. Until then, an inquiry or even a phone call does not reserve anything, because the calendar only holds one wedding per day. Peak season, June through October, tends to fill 12 to 18 months out.

Step 4: The pre-wedding call

Every booking includes a call before the wedding. This is where your plan gets specific:

  • Where getting ready happens, and when you want coverage to start
  • Ceremony time, and where the light will sit at that hour
  • Who is giving toasts, and anything in the program I should know about
  • The people whose reactions matter most to you
  • A backup plan if a Front Range storm shows up in the afternoon

By the end, I understand your day before it arrives, which means fewer questions for you on the day itself.

Step 5: The wedding day

On the day, my approach is to stay out of the way. I guide a few moments where it helps, but mostly I am watching. Long lenses and distance do the work wherever distance works, and nothing during the ceremony is re-staged or re-said for the camera.

The gear is weather sealed. If the timeline needs to shift, we shift with it and keep rolling. If you want the drone pull-out, the one that starts tight on the two of you and opens up to everyone who came with the mountains behind them, we plan a few minutes for it right after the ceremony.

Step 6: Your film arrives

Your film comes through a private, password-protected Vimeo link that you can stream, share and download in full resolution. It opens on a phone, a laptop or a TV with one tap. Footage is backed up and held for at least two years after delivery, and films are cut with licensed music, so sharing it online is not a copyright problem waiting to happen.

Nothing goes public without your say-so. Portfolio use is covered in your contract, and you can decline it there.

FAQ

How far ahead should we contact a Colorado Springs wedding videographer?

For a June through October date, 12 to 18 months out is a good target. If your date is sooner, reach out anyway and check.

Does a phone call hold our date?

No. A signed contract and a retainer hold the date, because only one wedding goes on the calendar each day.

Do you also take photos?

No. Peak Wedding Films is video only. You hire your photographer separately and I film alongside them.

Can we see a full wedding film before we book?

Yes. Ask on the call and a full-length film gets sent over.

Is your date open?

Send your date and where you are getting married, and you will know where you stand.
